The all new PLD/S 800 Servo Pouch making machine from JOKEAvailable through UK agent Healey Packaging, the JOKE PLD/S 800 pouch making machine is of compact design and incorporates servo technology making it an ideal machine for the large quantity production of edge-sealing bags. The widest variety of materials can be processed: PA/PE, aluminium composite, PE/PA/PE and paper composite.
The PLD/S 800 uses both composite films and tubular or flat material to manufacture pouches. The sealing devices consist of two lengthways sealing stations and two crossways sealing stations. The two lengthways sealing stations are adjustable crossways in relation to the forward feed direction by means of toothed racks. All sealing stations are controlled by servomotors. The maximum working width is 800 mm.
With printed film, the photoelectric cell control takes over precise positioning of the print pattern in relation to the sealing seam. The sealing temperatures for the lengthways and crossways sealing stations are separately adjustable and are electronically controlled. Adjustment is performed using the touchscreen display.
The large, clear touchscreen display allows convenient adjustment of all essential parameters. The menu has a large number of memory locations and the program structure is simple to use. The display is incorporated in a pivoting arm and therefore allows rapid access from both sides of the machine.
Following crossways and lengthways cutting, the bags are stacked over each other on the transport conveyor. The stacking quantity and transport conveyor forward feed can both be easily selected on the display. Modification of the format changes in addition to the sealing seam widths can be performed in a few simple movements.
The PLD/S800 can also be equipped with a folding triangle. The advantage being that a 90º offset film unwinding station is dispensed with and the machine can be set up in the narrowest of spaces and up to 500 mm-wide flat film can be processed. Consequently, bags with printing on both sides can be manufactured from flat film.

The New Bench Top Mini BagBoy 400A brand new automatic bench top bag making machine has been launched by German manufacturer JOKE. Designed to use HDPE or LDPE film it is the smallest and most efficient of its kind running on 230v power and requiring no compressed air supply.
mini-BagBoy 400 is designed to produce bottom seam bags, and with a footprint of only 800mm x 600mm, will fit on any work bench or table. Bag sizes of up to 400mm film width and between 30mm and 1000mm long can be manufactured. Two servomotors ensure precise operation for bag length and for straight cutting of the bags.
A simple to use touch screen display controls all parameters. Forward feed, number of cycles, number of items, sealing and cooling times can all be configured quickly and easily, even whilst the machine is running.
mini-BagBoy 400 is ideal for film manufacturers with small to medium numbers of items and its compact size also makes it ideal for use in areas such as clean rooms. With a minimal amount of operator training required mini-BagBoy400 will fit economically into pretty well any production environment.

SP4 Sealing Press
The new model SP4 sealing Press has superceded the tried and tested machine. As before the special form heating bands can be manufactured for almost any shape you require. Applications include sealing of valve bottles in inliner bags, including gel filled cooling bags from the field of dentistry, through to blister packs.
The contact pressure can be adjusted to suit all shapes and accommodate a diverse range of films. Simultaneous sealing and separating is possible with an infinite adjustment of the sealing parameters.
The SP4 has a larger sealing area and more powerful hydraulics than the model it replaces.
WIDE FORMAT SEALING
The HTP series of sealing devices from JOKE are pneumatically operated and superbly designed for the sealing of materials needing a high contact sealing pressure. Standard models in the range are capable of sealing up to 3.5 metres in length with a band width of from 4mm to 40mm.
High throughput and consistent results are achievable by utilising water cooled sealing bars in conjunction with a purpose built cooler and digitally controlled impulse unit.
